Oaks was born on January 7, 2021, and from the very first moment, his parents knew their little boy was something special. Just a few hours later, Oaks was transferred to a children’s hospital, where his medical journey would begin in earnest. At just 5 days old, Oaks underwent his first open-chest surgery, a procedure to place a pulmonary artery (PA) band. This was a necessary step in helping manage his heart condition, as his heart was not functioning as it should.
